Katie Premo, MS, LMFT

  • I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy and have really enjoyed utilizing this modality to work with individuals navigating trauma, depression and anxiety. I am also trained in the Gottman approach to Couple Therapy and enjoy working with couples on anything from communication struggles to difficulty with parenting, intimacy issues, fertility challenges, and blended family issues. I also enjoy working with maternal mental health issues, and frequently work with adults navigating depression, anxiety, and phase of life and adjustment challenges.

  • The relationship that develops between the client and therapist is a significant factor in therapeutic outcomes. I want my clients to feel safe, heard, and understood, but they also need to trust that when I’m challenging them on something it’s coming from a place of empathy and a shared desire to promote change. With couples, I feel that it’s particularly important to recognize that there are three clients in the room; not only is each partner a client but also their relationship, and when a relationship is having difficulties, it’s important to recognize those challenges as distinct from the individuals themselves.

  • I enjoy working with a variety of clients in my practice and am comfortable working with older adolescents, adults, individuals, couples and families.

I offer in person and Telehealth sessions. Please contact our office to see if I’m seeing new clients.
