Katie Premo, MS, LMFT
My Specialties
I have formal training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for children who have experienced trauma. Other areas of special interest include working with couples on anything from communication struggles to difficulty with parenting, intimacy issues, fertility challenges, blended family issues. I also enjoy working with youth and adults with depression, anxiety, and phase of life challenges.
My Therapy Beliefs
The relationship that develops between the client and therapist is a significant factor in therapeutic outcomes. I want my clients to feel safe, heard, and understood, but they also need to trust that when I’m challenging them on something it’s coming from a place of empathy and a shared desire to promote change. With couples, I feel that it’s particularly important to recognize that there are three clients in the room; not only is each partner a client but also their relationship, and when a relationship is having difficulties, it’s important to recognize those challenges as distinct from the individuals themselves.
My Clients
I enjoy working with a variety of clients in my practice and have experience working with children and adults, couples, individuals, and families.
My Space
We must not allow other people’s limited perceptions to define us.

A Person-Centered Approach
Often times people want change but aren’t sure how to do it by themselves. At Peace of Mind Therapy, we take a person-centered approach to mental health so people can gain a deeper sense of self as they face life’s twists and turns. No two experiences are alike, but we’re excited to partner with you as your process the challenges you’ve experienced.
